Off up to the lake district and the barrow mountaineering club in the copper mines area of Coniston.
We set off for dow crag.. but as we got closer the rain turned harder and the cloud came down further so at goats water we turned up the west slope to summit old man.... crampons and ice axes necessary for the summit approaches.
On the summit we met the other half of the party int he hut who had come up the NE side, so after a quick conversation we each went down the others ascent route.
So back to the hut and trying to get the fire going to dry out.
