The next day the weather was improving, and so we decided to continue around to another valley down the chain - up from Ayas, to the end of the road at Alpi VeraThe further up the road you went the more degraded until the last 10 kms were on a rough track.
The views up the valley were fantastic, and we looked forward to good times in the mountains. then we came to another corner with boulders to negotiate in the road, even having to get everyone out at one point to increase the clearance.
What a place waited for us at the end of the road, after 15 miles in first gear .. It came to an end abruptly as this meadow, one hut and several of us intrepid people in cars.A magical setting to end up.
Overnight a front came through and I kind of expected the worst,,, but...
