A lazy start to the day, as we got everything ready and took the Monterosa ski lift system cable car up to the ridge at Punta Indren. Not cheap at a cost of 28,000 Lire
From the top station it is a glacial path across to the ridge. On a well worn path across an almost dry glacier. 2 hours to the hut
Over the ridge there is a much snowier glacier crossing to get over to the hut.The hut is an amazing collection of long thin buildings where it has been expanded over the years.
The hut was the biggest I had ever stayed in (at 270 beds) to that point, and had other surprises .. Proper coffee machine, flushing toilets, smaller bunk rooms, and lots of food - dinner was self service.
