The weather was still poor and did not look like getting better, and with the avalanche danger high, we decided to go to Switzerland and head to Saas Fee .... the objective would be to do a tour taking in the Allalinhorn, and the Strahlhorn.
Driving over the Forclaz pass to Martigny and then up the Rhone valley then up to Saas Grund. Once there we looked for a camp-site, but everywhere was full, or closed for the season. We ended up on a patch of grass that was probably the front lawn of a hotel. It was surprisingly expensive for such limited facilities, and we would only stay for one night, aiming to be in a mountain hut the next night.
