After the efforts of the day before we chose to have a slightly easier day. The weather was due to close in and we did not want to miss any good days (although the clouds were already closing in)
We decided to go over to Les Deux Alpes, and see what facilities were available from that resort. Being that it was so close and almost linked.
We drove around to Les Deux Alpes which was right at the end of its season and everything was running down with most people having left.as the snow cover was very poor.
We bought a half day ticket and went up the main lift to the top before investigating some of the off-piste descent opportunities (down to St. Christoph). We caught the first cable car to the mid point in the bowl, and from there a gondola, and we were in the clouds .. a couple of other tows go up to the top of this side, we went as high as we could (the last lift was closed, and we never got to see (or try) the cat drag, which went over to the top of La Grave.
In the clouds with zero visibility we went back down to the top of the bubble , before continuing on the easier tracks, while still in the clouds. We did not appear out of them until almost at the mid station.
From here we continued on the piste, as the off-piste was very bare, and at the bottom only the green run zigzagging across the slope had any snow left on it.
A bit disheartened we headed back to the comfort of our bunkhouse.
