M-J had booked a chalet in Les Praz just outside Chamonix, Bryon and Sue did not come with us this year, so it was just the two families.
We caught a relatively early ferry and drove down to Bourg en Bresse before staying the night in an F1, before a relaxed continuation into Chamonix. We first stopped off at the tourist office for Carte Neige insurance cards, and also to raid the discount stores.
We then headed off to the chalet, which was situated up a steep icy track. We had to park at the first hairpin, and carry everything up to the chalet on the girls sledges.
The chalet was a new build with plenty of room for us.. however it would be a few days before we could drive anywhere near it.
