Sunshine Village, Canada

Getting up at a reasonable time and a big breakfast, we headed off round the corner to Sunshine Village .. we wanted to go by bus, but this got too complicated and we just drove around there.

Parking in the car park we took our kit around to the gondola ... this was quite a surprising one that tracked up the valley, including a right angled turn, before ending up at the first centre. from here a second tranche lead up to the main lodge .. it seemed the development had occurred in a number of phases ..

From here we set off up to Lookout mountain and our first main runs of the day ... Tony was an accomplished piste skier, and on the Blue runs (Canada and US does not have red runs) he was much faster and I was soon chasing to keep up. This gave me the opportunity to push the boundaries a little.

We spent the morning going up and down the Blues and Black diamond pisted runs, and getting to trust each other.

After lunch we headed back to the first mountain ... it was time to get a bit more technical. On the map there was a number of interesting lines down Goats eye mountain. We went down the Double Black lines at the far end of the mountain, the first run was such a buzz we went back and did a second line near it.

I was now completely knackered and so we headed back to the hotel for a rest and food.
