Kleiner Scheidegg, Switzerland

We woke up this morning, and the clouds had moved on. We decided to go for plan A and tried to see if we could get places it the huts ... this being a national holiday all the huts were full tonight, so we had to have a re-think.

Luckily the Monchjoch hutte would give us spce for the next two days, and then we could go for the Konkordia hutte, but the final piece at the Holandia we could not raise a peep, but we decided to try anyway. Next step book another night at the hostel.

Plan B for today....  we could not do nothing ... we had already used up 2 days of inactivity. So we decided to walk up to Kleiner Scheidegg (or as far as we could).

On the way up we looked for the mittalegi hut, and marvel at the views of the route we did all those years before.

As we got higher the snow drifts got bigger, and gradually we had to leave the track and make our own way up.

The last step before things got too much brought us to the train station at Alpiglen.

We had a good view of the north face ...  first thinking we found the new Mittelgi hut.

Then looking for the Nordwand windows.

Then the walk back down to Grund again. This time we were looking at the Wetterhorn and Schrekhorn.

More snow dodging before we were back on the road, and a swift return.

Coming down to Grund we could see the hostel ...  all painted blue, near the river.
