Reconaisance Day, Austria

The cloud was down in the valley again, and having had two hard days we were tempted into a rest day. If we had looked at the web cams we would have seen this to be valley cloud. However all was not lost. We made the day into a reconnaissance.
Valley leading to Frank Senn Hutte

Zillertalbahn
First off we went to have a look at the departure point for Frank Senn hutte. A good use of time as we found out the departure point is several kilometres further down the valley than on the map.  need to add an hour to the approach time, if we come back.

Then to check out the only steam train in Austria...  Zillertalbahn from Jenbach to Mayrhofen. Having found the station we realised that the steam train only runs once a day in each direction and we had missed it.

One of the fast corners
Old Bob Sled
On the way back to Doug's shack we took a short cut over the corner, and came across the Olympic bob-sled track ...  really impressive, but not for me....

Back to Doug's and an afternoon on the balcony. Tomorrow would be another day.
