The morning brought another sunny day - windy, but clear blue skies.
We were both still feeling the last few days and had discounted going up to the Silvretta .. The alternative was to move into the second half of the trip and head on into the Engadin ... unfortunately we had not thought that this weekend was the ski world cup and it was in St Moritz ... the whole valley was booked up!
So a quick amendment so that in place of going to Engadin up the Inn valley first, we would go around the top and down through Davos first.
Packing up the van and heading down to the Inn valley saw us riding the motorway through to St Anton and Feldkirch then out to Liechenstein. As the border here is very nebulous we passed through without the usual hassle to buy a Vignette - just when we actually want to. However a stop in Vaduz and a post office provided the requisite sticker in exchange for some cash - this is about the only thing in Switzerland that they wont accept a card for!
Soon we were entering the town of Klosters - we had a booking at the youth hostel for a couple of nights. Welcome to the commercial world again .. all the parking was paying, and as it was a weekend all the slots were taken. We ended up at the Vereiner tunnel where there was a place we could pull off and eat lunch.
Time to peruse the maps and do some exploring... first we went up to Davos and the Fluela pass.. very much like the grand St. Bernard .. the road stops at a barrier and there is parking each side .. from here there looked to be two good routes and an alternative off the top of the local cable car.
Up the valley to near the pass then up left following the near horizon, alternatively straight up left over the top and somewhere behind is the peak.
Then back across Klosters and up the side valley to St Antonien. A superb little village with several large car parks and a number of routes. One stood out for tomorrow - a great peak standing on it own.
Up the valley was the larger of the car parks, with a number of routes in varying directions, as well as a big sign showing how they had attached solar panels to the avalanche protection barriers.

Back in the van and a search for the youth hostel .. two old buildings joined up the mountain side - our room on the second floor was spacious enough, and the deal involved evening meal .. a lasagne special with large chucks of vegetable, a very passable spicy soup and lots of salad..
