Marathon attempt, welsh 3000 foot peaks

3am start out of the tents ...  Sue A drove us up to the pass and Nick, Sue and I set off up the Pyg track in moon light - it was 04:15

Up Bwlch y Moch adn on to Crib Goch, on to Crib y Dgysal, then follow the railway track to the summit of Snowdon. Back down the railway track, before cutting down to Llanberis and the Vaynol arms.

Up the other side ...  long steady climb up to Elidar Fawr, where Sue started to feel the effort. Some food and drink then on to Y Garn, on to Glydr Fawr, past the Castle of the winds and Glydr Fach, down besides Bristley ridge and up the N. ridge of Tryfan. back to the col and down the path to the road and Ogwen cottage.

After a rest and much tea from the shop it is up the sharp ascent of Pen yr Ole Wen, before the pleasant walk over the Carnedds

By 20:15 we were at the summit of Foel Fras, now just the descent, however just past Drum it got dark and we struggled to find the car hidden in the dip of a car park. A welcome sight and chance to remove our boots and drink in the supplies cached there - it was now 22:00.

Completely worn out we drove back to the tents and crashed. The morning brought rain and a reason to take our stiff, sore , tired bodies home for a long warm soak.

Preparation Day, Welsh 3000 feet peaks

After the last failure with Dave to complete the Welsh 3000 feet peaks, another plan was hatched, and Sue and I were to meet up with Nick and Sue A for another attempt ...

We had traveled up last night and stayed at the Dollweddellyn campsite, and set off to meet Nick and Sue A at Pete's Eats in Bethesda. Along the way we had time to take in The Cracks on Dinas Mot as we weer early and there was no one around.

We quickly hatched a plan to drop my car around at Aber , but as we drove past Milestone buttress we just had to stop off for a quick stomp up Super Direct.

So back to the tents for a short night with a very early rise.

Swanage, S. Coast Meet

A weekend down on the South coast at Swanage.

Subliminal area.
I started on Double Chockstone with Sue, then Nick was persuaded to take on Dead man Hunt with me as it is on the cover of the guide book.

.. traverse under the overhangs, pull over the top one, into a scoop, step left onto the arete and to the top.
The scoop was a grunt for me...

Next up baboon ..same start as dead man hunt, up to the block go right into a hanging corner.
