Snowdonia Meet, N. Wales

The weather had cleared overnight and a very hard frost, so the water falls should be good. It was Sunday and the weather would bring the hordes out.
We headed up to Devil's Kitchen - I knew some I/ II gullies up there that hopefully would not be first on peoples lists.
Great call ... the gullies were in great condition and the small steps made it excellent protected sport for all the party. We finished up a broad gully on to the tops and looked at both Glyder Fach and Fawr as well as across to Tryfan, before descending back to Ogwen and the cars for the long drive home.

Snowdonia Meet, N. Wales

We stayed in the NMLC hut near Capel Curig, so we could make the most of the weather, which for once was kind .. there was a blanket of new snow on the mountains, it had frozen overnight and more importantly the snow/ ice routes were in condition.

So despite the blanket of cloud hiding the tops we headed off for Snowdon, and the Llanberis pass..  from here we raced up the Pyg track and along Cribgoch, before dropping down and traversing for a mass climb of the trinity gullies (no real technical difficulties and the snow was in perfect condition), finishing on the summit in the mist.

A memorable day celebrated in style down the pub.
