Termignon, France

 After yesterday's successes we decided today to try another resort just up the valley . .. Termignon - we had visited this last year on the spring tour, and realised it needed another visit.

We rode the lifts up to the restaurant, before taking the right hand drag lift up to the highest point.

From here there was what looked like some excellent off-piste opportunities.

We skied both sides of the drag lift, searching out the best of the powder before dropping down to the drag again.

Back up for another go, and this time to find the "top" we had visited when we were here last year.

We dropped down the drag tracks ...  as there were not many people around we could make our way to it easily.

After dropping into the cafe for food and drinks, we were very surprised to see that it had a revolving floor, which slowly rotated while we enjoyed the hospitality. Around the walls were many pictures of an accordion player ... may be the host?

 yet another run or two and we returned to the bottom very pleased with the day.

Aussois, France

 On the other side of the valley we saw from the map that there was a resort called Aussois...

The day was going to be sunny and we had hoped that this would give us more snow, but definitely a good warm sunny day.

We drove down to Modane and up the other side, through the village to the parking places.


We started off on the blue runs from the top.

Then after a break for lunch we headed back up to the top. Over the other side looked like some interesting bowls. Sue and Dom went down, whilst the rest of us went up.

From the top we dropped down one of the runs to the bottom, before coming back up and then taking a new line.

This time off piste .. I had seen a gulley to the right of the piste, and both girls followed me down.

Then we repeated it for good measure.

After more messing around we went back to the cars happy people.

We went up the mountain again today, but which routes we took I cant remember, except that one of these days we came down the long blue from the top.

The morning the clouds were down and their was snow blowing all over the village, however by the afternoon it had cleared up and so we went up for a short day..  I cant remember what we did, just that despite the  snow it was very bare, and icy in places.

A lazy day around the apartment and the village. The morning started with a blizzard, but we did get out in the afternoon, but poor light and visibility.

2005 Ski Trip, France

Bryon and Sue decided not to come this year, after the disturbed sleep last year, so Chris, M-J, Sue and I decided to got back to Val Frejus this year ..  we rented an apartment up the hill from the last one ... I don't think this had been built when we were here in 2002. The hotel apartment Belvedere.

The journey down was a nightmare /...  we arrived at Dover 1am, for the ferry to find out 2 berths were down in Calais and did not even depart until 5am. The journey down was a continuous stream of traffic, and we finally arrived at 8pm, grateful that Chris and M-J were already there.
