Weobley Castle, the Gower
Woebley Castle ... stuck out on the Gower peninsular .. did not know it was here
all the times we visited . a great outlook over the salt marshes.
We were going to meet Andy again .. finally caught up with him and Lizzy in a cafe by the coast.

Aberdulais Falls, Neath
Aberdulais Falls and tin works ... a site we passed on the back road to Swansea
... also a haunting song on 13 Fires ... this did end up as a published video
...
An old tin works with a water wheel .. still working, but also the site of equality gone mad .. there was a huge modern structure added so that wheelchairs could get to the top of the wheel ... time for NT to get a grip.

Tretower Court & Castle, Crickhowel
Tretower court and castle ... a well liked site .. we were scouting it out for a Bluehorses video .. we wanted to do Waes Hael in the dining room ... but inaction killed it .. still a nice site.
Blaenavon Iron Works
First on the agenda today ... another CADW site ... Blaenavon Ironworks .. quite an industrial site .. I took a load of video for a Bluehorses clip that never really made it.
The cottages had been used for filming a reality show, so had some leftovers around.
Then it was off to Tretower and Aberdare and another Travelodge for the night.

Chepstow Castle
On the way to our hotel we stopped off at Chepstow Castle making use of our CADW membership.
We were going to meet up with Andy, and wander around Margam park, but he was delayed. So we went off on our own.
2008 Summer Break, Wales
We dropped Suki off in Winchester with the Old Dear and then headed off to Wales .. we had a Travelodge booked in Ebbw vale.
Then off for some walks around the interest areas.

Return, Scilly Isles
We were to take the Helicopter back ... such a change from the boat. First
we had to get to the airport, and then it was a simple check in and allocation
of seats, then the nervous wait to ensure it was flying today.
On board was like a small plane, lots of noise, but standard seating 2 and 1 across.
Back in Penzance we had to catch the bus to find the van again and begin the long journey home.
Past Stonehenge with a slight deviation, but avoiding the charges.

Tresco
The sun was shining and the view from our window showed the harbour in all its glory.
After breakfast we stepped across the quay and into a boat bound for Tresco .. Sue wanted to see the gardens.
Because of the tides we landed at the New Grimsby Quay. Having all day on the island, and a regular ferry boat, allowed us to take our time and so we first headed North to the remains of the "castles"
We walked back down to the gardens via the few residential buildings with the shop and office etc. looking longingly at the place where we would have stayed the night we missed out. We were to catch the helicopter to Tresco then move to St Mary's yesterday.
Down the long drive to the estate and into the gardens proper.
After seeing the gardens .. back to the ferry stop only to find out it was no longer from the same quay, but at the extreme south end of the Island at Oliver's battery.
So walking almost the length of the island again, but now along the shore line, we arrived at the quay with a wait for the next boat.
So we explored the shore line, with Sue beach combing towards Green Island.
