Hunstanton Cliffs

Once again a different direction and we headed out into Norfolk ... Hunstanton to see the cliffs and walk on the beach. I had never been to Norfolk.

I had seen the pictures of the cliffs so just the excuse to have a look


Back along the top past St Edmund's chapel, and a nice story for KT. as well as the lighthouse

Fineshade Woods

We had used the van for the first time overnight ... in the campsite next to this place ... not exactly cheap - it is a caravan club site nor was it fully "featured" but it provided the base for a couple of nights to try out the upstairs accommodation in the van :-)
Waking up here we decided to stick around and explore the woods and the bike tracks (on foot of course) . Fineshade wood.  There was no printed map but some marked trails ... we kind of mixed them up to get around most of the woods.

Rutland Water


A different style of day today ... a walk around (well part of it anyway - there and back) Rutland Water.
A fair stretch of the muscles.
We parked on the South side, and after a fantastic breakfast in the Italian restaurant .. unexpected bonus .. we walked around to the West, over the dam, and East to the big car park on the North shore.



A deserved cuppa and back around the reverse...
Ready for a snooze .. tonight we were to be in the van - but first we had to find a campsite.

2013 Summer Break, Midlands

This year the summer holidays would be taken around transporting Steph up to her "experience" holiday building dry stone walls as part of her D of E Gold challenges.
She was doing this in the grounds of Belvoir castle near Gratham.
