Karen's house is deep in the New Forest, on the edge of fields on one side, but
heathland and forest on the other three.
We set out to walk the dogs .. into the trees, heading for the Lyndhurst
road underpass.
Once in the woods on the other side (Shave Wood) following tracks to the breaks
through the canopy.
a loop around Shave green Inclosure keeping away from the motorway/ A31 and the
Lyndhurst road boundaries.
Bertie took an opportunity to stop in several puddles.
Then back to the underpass and across the woods and heath to the house. Lunch
to follow.
Later in the afternoon/ evening Bertie and I accompanied Les and their dog
"around the block" for the second expedition.
