After lunch I was restless once more and so we went for a second walk .. this
time up the road towards the cormet de Roseland... leaving the town in the
opposite direction to our first walk.
We branched off the main road onto the Cormet road just outside the town and
headed into a gorge with a river at the bottom beside the road and steep wooded
sides.
The road wound around a little before climbing in a pair of switchbacks up to a
more open area.
From here you could see across to the last village of the commune up on the side
of the hill.
Where the road to these villages left the Cormet de Roseland
road the way ahead was closed and unploughed.
So whilst Lloyd and Katie continued to the village and then back to our route,
descend through the trees, Steph, Sue and I turned back and replaced our outward
steps along the road back to Beaufort. Looking across beyond Beaufort to the
slopes of Les Saisies
Another clearing of the van before going back to the apartment, and a
review of the weather for the coming days - it keeps changing.
