Last walk of the year, and it was squally rain after heavy showers overnight, so we opted to repeat the crevasse bridge route along the canal and back. If only to see Sue negotiate the damaged bridges
Through the village and down the path to the canal - the river was high, but still under the bridge, and the adder field was not yet underwater.Along to Gennets Wood lock where there was a waterfall over the end lock gate, however the border path only had a large puddle on it so it looked like the bridges might be clear.
Along the canal to the path down to Sydney farm.
The horses were in the field beside the farm, however we got across before they woke up to us, and then down to the first bridge. A small part was underwater with the missing section still just above so we could cross without panic (although Bertie did need a lift over the hole).
The second Bridge was well above the water and showing the crevasse hole in all its glory. (To see the full story on this see the initial stroll report a few weeks ago).
Across without incident other than the ungainly negotiation of all the stiles. Then across to the border path to take us over to the Lane. Along this road and back into the village, and home to dry off.
