The keys were dropped in the agency next to the main car park and we were on the road. This time we were going to make use of the payage roads and the idiot box now directed up back to Lyon and from there up the A6 towards Paris. From there (to avoid the periferique) we took the A19 towards Orleans, from there we took the route from earlier in the week back to Dieppe. We stopped at Dreux for a meal at the Buffalo grill
We arrived at the port at around 9pm and joined the queue outside the gates (they would not open until 10pm). There were two queues and we were towards the back so some must have been queueing for several hours already. The ferry arrived before the gates opened, but we were soon going through the process of ticketing, then immigration before the inspection all withing the gateway.

Next we waited in our alloted grid position for loading, that started the moment the check-in was closed.
We were once again put up the front (not on the ramp again but to one side), and then went upstairs. It was empty - I guess most of the others have coughed up for cabins. The others sat at a table while I tried to sleep first in the chair then the floor, but ended up in the recliner (did not go back more than 5cm) with a broken seat base but it was up against a wall I could lean against. The crossing this time was scheduled for 6 hours .. must be the tides. I managed to get at least 3-4 hours sleep before the breakfast gong woke me and I went off for a lukewarm full English.

Once we docked, I drove home,, whilst the others dozed. At home they all went off for a few hours sleep and I pottered around.
The girls went home after we had unpacked and transferred to the right places.
