The trials and tribulations of moving house over for now and we are
settled into temporary accommodation in mid Wales, I needed to find a place to
store the van when not in use. Steph's house is right on the main road so not
really eligible parking.
Luckily, A nearby farmer had offered up a spot
on his driveway that we could use, down a rural farm track. This was at the
other end of the village, but not too far away to be awkward.
Here was an opportunity to stretch our legs - after this period of other things getting in the way. However the weather was damp and drizzly, with a lot of standing water, so keeping to the "prepared" surfaces was called for.
First we walked up the road to the place to see what the access was like. The track although potholed was still reasonable for the van, and we could walk around all the puddles. After checking in with the farmer, Steph wanted to photograph some sheep for her social media so we continued down the track to the next field, before turning back.
Another pause for some tups in the next field.
Back up to the main road and through the village once again.
back in the house a pause to warm up - it was chilly, with the slight drizzle. Before I picked up the van and drove down.
The pause had given the weather a chance to turn a bit more consistent rain, and I was glad of the raincoat for the return walk (repeating the way of earlier, since I did not have wellies, otherwise I might have been tempted to do a longer walk around the outside of the village through the fields.
