The clouds were all down, it was raining and we could not see much... time for a little exploration..
I wanted to go around to La Berade, and see what his place was like... I had seen articles linking it to mountaineering and wanted to get a better appreciation. It would also give us an opportunity to see the other side of the off-piste descent from Les Deux Alpes.
A long drive in some pretty scenery, and very narrow roads. the town itself is much like those at the end of the alpine roads, and very much a place to depart from to get to the high huts.
I would need much more research (and time) to be able to make the best of this place as it is very intense and seems to involve long days.
Anyway now I know and also made use of a day off.
