Old Fort, Oswestry

In Oswestry, and having time on our hands we went for a stroll up to the hillfort. Following the signs to the parking lead to the recreational ground and some foot paths ...

We headed off up a likely looking hillock, but got it wrong and had to come back down and go further up the road. We would discover where we went wrong as we returned to the car.
The top of the hill fort was very windy ... and we rushed around the perimeter path, without taking many photos, but with the gentle rolling grass slopes split by ditches - it is hard to see the details.
From the top we headed back to the car ... the real path led through a maize field (which was why it was hard to see from the car park).
Looking back to the fort, bathed in sunshine, it belied the wind howling over it.
