Snow day, Austria

After yesterdays miserable weather, the forecast for today was even worse... we woke up to 15 cm snow on the terrace and cloud all around.

The prospect of another day hanging around was on the cards ... with very flat light and no visibility there was not much prospect of activity, other than watching the cars on the road struggle to get any grip and then procrastinate whilst they debated what to do before turning around and retreating slowly down hill.

As the morning progressed i got more and more frustrated and so we headed off to walk down into the valley to get some food. At least it had slowed the precipitation a little.

We walked down the road as the footpaths were covered and not visible.

Down in the valley it was heavy rain and after picking up some bits and pieces we went to the tea shop/ bakery for coffee and a dry out, before the return up the hill.

A disappointing day.

Dinner was booked back in the Gasthof Sulzfluh ... we would look to cook for ourselves tomorrow and save money (also because it was the weekend and there was not a lot of alternative choice)
