Through the village to the canal before taking the path to Loxwood from Devil's Hole lock. Through the village and taking the Merry Hills track.
We followed the farm drives up to the Sussex Border Path, and then along this to Hook Street lane - seems to have been used of off-road driving.
Leaving Hook Street at Males farm, along a very overgrown track through grass fields, this got worse as we approached Horton Farm, where it was a field of pure nettles, and in the end I diverted through the farm drive.
Crossing the A281 and down an equally overgrown path down the side of Pallinghurst Farm. Things got better at the end of the house boundary as the path opened out to the fields beyond.
At the end of the fields the track went into Wildwood copse beside a pond
Coming out of the woods beside Little Wildwood farm to a tended grassy area and the farm drive.
Crossing over into Birch Copse,. much more a rhododendron wood with the path barely visible in the undergrowth.
out of the copse beside the Waterland house driveway. Around the side of the house and out to Knowle lane
From the road, after a step in the direction away from Cranleigh, we took the footpath to Hammer farm, and over the river
Arriving at the bridge to Vachery pond, where I climbed up to the Downs link and followed it along to Cranleigh.
A little early for the appointment I wandered down the shops getting some bits
from lunch, and stopping in the square.
After the appointment I set out on the return first using Knowle lane then
turning down the driveway beside Knowle park care home. The driveway moved into
the estate of Holdhurst farm cutting straight into the distance. The driveway continued beyond the trees and through the next field, until it zigzagged through the farm yard.
Down the farm driveway to the Alfold road, which I followed all the way to the A281 - Cant wait for the canal to restore this section so it can be walked away from the traffic
Across from the junction with the A281, the path dives into the shrubbery coming out into grass fields leading to the mobile home park at the compasses gate of Dunsfold aerodrome.
Another contrived section of the Wey south path as it follows the road around the outside of the airfield. I then took the driveway towards Springbok estate.
the driveway turned off, but I continued in the same direction on Sachelhill lane, and into the farm land - I have walked all of the tracks around here, and this seems to be the most direct.
Cutting over to the canal at Gennets bridge lock. Down the canal to the path into the village and so home.
