Return Journey, France

Last morning and time to clean everything and leave it as we found it - another good thing about older properties is that they do not need to be shined.

We had loaded a lot of the kit last night, with only a few bits to add in today, luckily we could still get in the back door of the van.. There had been a hard frost overnight, but no new snow  and after dropping the key off in the post box for the agency in Beaufort (this saved us a trip up the valley to Areches).
On the road we headed first for Annecy then followed the autoroutes all the way back, stopping for a couple of breaks and fuel at Reims once again. At the A1 we turned north towards Lille where things got congested before going along the A25 to Dunkerque.
At the ferry port we checked in early and had an hour to wait before boarding, then up to the restaurant for dinner - this was a surprise as they served up an excellent beef curry.
Back in the UK a standard journey back home and sleep.
