Brinsbury Return, Ifold

A bright day, but my knee was still troubling me, so rather than push it hard, I opted to walk back from Brinsbury getting a lift as Sue went to work. The idea was to cross to the canal then up to Wisborough Green, a bit of convoluted route then following the Kirdford return route home.
We were dropped into the car park and made our way back to teh entrance and then a scary walk along the side of the A29 passing architectural plants and the micro brewery up to the entrance to the mobile home park. From here we followed the overgrown path down the side.
This track continued alongside a wood and after getting more overgrown mutated into a green lane alongside pasture fields.
Around the buildings of Cornwood and Westlands farm, where we met the driveway track.
Taking the track as it headed away from Adversane, then up a side rise more buildings.
Down the side of these buildings was a well used enclosed track, and into North Wood.
Beyond North wood we picked up a farm track, and then a drive way to Lee Place house.
Just past the outbuildings we followed a green lane that appeared to be the path, however after reaching the field at the end where the vista opened out, we realised it was not correct and had to backtrack up to the house.
On teh correct track we dropped down to the canal and across the newly refurbished bridge.
Bertie dropped down into the water before we continued up the other side to Harsfold hanger on a chalky farm track.
Once we reached Harsfold farm and Manor the track became tarmacked. We followed this track/ driveway (Harsfold Lane) as it climbed up to Wisborough Green.
As teh lane reached the A272 we crossed into Glebe Way and into the church yard.
Around the churchyard we continued into the field beyond and out onto Newpound Lane. Along teh lane into Wisborough Green and alongside the edge of the cricket pitch.
We could have gone along Kirdford road, however to make it less traffic bound, we cut through the housing estate and out onto a back road - The luth - that we followed along the edge of the village.
As teh lane became more travelled we turned into the fields on a path that was fenced off from the grazing areas - great for Bertie as we passed several cows.
The path turned right alongside a farm track and passing several buildings before spilling out onto Kirdford road once again. After the junction with Skiff lane we found an entrance on the left to an area managed by Sussex Wildlife trust. We entered this and freelanced our way through it up to Boxal Bridge.
Just before Boxal bridge we crossed over the Kirdford Road and onto a path that paralleled Boxal Brook. This brought us to one of the regular return routes home from Kirdford Just before Barkfold Rough.
Beyond Chandlers Barn we continued up the route home passing maize fields (new this year), and hence on home.
