It had been dryish for several days with only light drizzle, so I thought it would be good to repeat the canal stroll of last week and go and examine the bridges with holes in to photograph for the record.
Through the village and down the path to the adder field. The field was clear of water and the stream was a good 2m below the bridge.Up to the canal and following it in the direction to Guildford. Passing Furzen wood lock and up to Gennets wood lock.
Here the flooding had also cleared from the Sussex border path, although we did not go down it, but continued on up the canal.
Along to the path away down to Sydney Farm - luckily the horses that chased us last time were not in their field and we got a clean run through.
Out the other side we looked over to the flood plain - now clear of water and the gap int he hedge where the first bridge was.
Then across to the second bridge - my hole was glaringly obvious now almost exactly in the middle.
The hole itself is about 30cm square, I guess about the size of my boots - pretty unlucky to break through as any further forward/ backward left or right would have given more support and hence less chance of breaking!
From here we followed the path to the side of Oxencroft, around it and onto the forestry road.

From here we switched onto the Lane, and up it into the village. Finishing down the Ride and back home.
