Sue, Bertie and I had a reservation at the Sir Roger Tichborne for lunch so that we could have a drink we walked up from home... effectively just an extension to one of the canal walks. We would go up the canal to Gennet's Bridge lock then follow the track to the pub on the B2133.
As it had rained overnight we walked up through the village on the drive and the lane then took the turning onto Ifold Bridge lane which took us to the canal on tarmacked roads. From here up the recently renovated towpath (except for the bit around the house at the end of Ifold Bridge Lane).
At Gennet's bridge lock we followed the track towards Oakhurst farm then its drive up to the B2133.
Lunch in the pub and a pint and a half later we staggered out. (Bertie had helped too but we also had a bag full for his dinner!).
Back the same way to Gennet's bridge lock where Bertie wanted to continue down the SBP. This path was a little bit more boggy as we walked along Oxencroft Copse but the bluebells were doing their thing in the woods. Then up past the "designer" house with plastic cows on the lawn to reach the lane and hence back down to Ifold and home.
