Wey canal & Stoke Park, Guildford

We were having a tow bar fitted to the small car today, at a little place in Guilford suburb of Woodbridge Hill. They needed the car for a couple of hours, so I though we could go for a walk along the canal and back through Stoke park.

A series of concrete bridges took us out of the residential road the fitting place was on and across the A3, to come out next to the old PC World building. Then we crossed the canal and dropped down onto the towpath.
Along the towpath past numerous residential buildings with their own moorings to the A320 crossing - here we had to climb up to the road and cross over before dropping down to the canal again. Still on the towpath up to Stoke Lock (this is the lock where the canal joins the river Wey)
Along the river now passing the industrial complexes of the Slyfield industrial estate (and dump). then we crossed over to the riverside nature reserve.
The gravel track took us back alongside a large lake parallel to the canal.
At the end of the lake we curved towards the A3, before going under it  next to a branch of the river.
Now beside the sports complex but still in some woods we passed the old Dragon's Teeth relics from WWII stretched down a small slope to the river. We crossed over the A25 and into Stoke Park - a large grassy area with multiple playing pitches in various locations.
We crossed the park and came out onto a side road and under the railway line. down more residential streets to the A322 opposite the cricket pitch with views up to the cathedral.
Down the side of the county ground and over the canal/ river near Dapdune Wharf next to the rail line. On the other side we followed the canal back up towards the bridges we crossed beside PC World.
Past some sculptures before climbing u to the concrete foot bridges again and back to the workshop. The car was just ready (earlier than anticipated)
