Ansty Circuit, Cuckfield

The forecast was for another hot day, and Bertie only came with me because it was overcast at the start of the day. I chose a shorter route today because of both constraints and planned to head over to Cuckfield after dropping Sue off at Brinsbury. I planned to park in the centre of Cuckfield then walk down to cross the A272 and down towards the A273. From here cross country over to the A23, then up to Bolneyto pick up the Sussex Diamond trail  and High Weald landscape trail back to Cuckfield.

We parked int eh village car park, however we did not have a disk to show the time, so I set our Horsham one and left a note indicating that I had tried to get one in the only two open shops. Then down through the town to the church and into the graveyard and onto the lane beyond.
Along the lane that turned into an overgrown path before it went into some trees.
Over the A272 and continuing into scrub on the other side. Over Copyhold lane into some mowed fields leading down to some buildings.
Around the buildings and down to woods alongside a stream.
Climbing the other side into a grass field and horse paddock lead past more buidings.
Along a thin area of Scot pines which had a couple of pigs grazing underneath.
Beyond was a couple of additional empty grazing fields, before disappearing into woods and a stream crossing. the other side of the stream we picked up a dirt track.
The track ended (or rather we left it) as it entered a mowed field climbing to a house.
The path had been moved away from the house at some point and we tried to cross a lane beyond and were called back and had to find the continuing path further north. The field we had entered had no exit, but we were just told it was wrong and had to find out the correct way ourselves.
beside a corn field, and then along a path that ended as a fenced track between two horse fields leading up to a residential house with all the facilities (pool, hot tub, patio set, tennis court, horse ring and several stables).
Past the house and over the B2036 into a grass field beyond.
The field gave a good view down to the South Downs
Over the top of the slope and down the other side through a caron field.
Aroudn a "private" Brewhouse pond on a fenced off ramp and over Quickfield road into a grass field stretching away.
Over Bishopstone lane and into another mown field heading for the woods beyond. The path was slightly different to the map, but there were signs.
Through the woods and past Lovell's farm, then down its driveway to the reach Stairbridge Lane.
Along Stairbridge Lane to the A272 then continuing over onto Buncton lane. After several houses we turned into the woods around Highlands.
Through the woods to an underpass of the A23, where we turned up some steps to pick up the diamond way.
Along the DW through Bolney Wood to get back to Buncton Lane
Turning off the lane following the DW through grazing fields and a semi wild meadow areas to reach Pickwell lane.
Across the lane and into Long wood. A short section Brioxmead lane, before back into the woods.
Bertie had a unintentional swim at a small weir, however it did clean his muddy legs. The Bridleway then crossed a vineyard climbing to a farm lane.
Along the lane to the farm (or vintner) buildings and then along the driveway down to Deaks Lane.
Off the lane onto a bridleway leading down to and into Walks wood (part of Cuckfield Park)
Noe on the High Weald Landscape trail as it crossed through Cuckfield Park.
I had been here before and remembered the drop down to the stream (it was very muddy last time)
Climbing up the other side and through the fields to the edge of Cuckfield - the church steeple was a good landmark as that is where we had started.
Along the main street (B2036) to the centre and back to the car park.
