BOC Walk, Easebourne circuit

The next BOC oldies walk had come around ...  despite the fact I had just returned from the bagpipe band tour of Eckjo Sweden, I chose to join in. We all met at the Cowdray park farm shop car park, and into the café for the pre walk snack (I passed).

We walked over the A272 and through the allotments behind the church, then through the fields behind. this rose gently up to the woods
Once in the woods we followed the main tracks through the woods up to the back road and down the drive way to Verdley farm - this is a farm for all the polo ponies used at Cowdray park.
Along the top of the slope to come out on the back road into Henley village. We passed the Duke of Cumberland pub and down into Verdley wood.
Around Verdley wood and back to the pub for lunch. A bit of consternation as there was no water (main had burst somewhere) however we were able to get some drinks and they somehow managed to provide food (as special guests)
After lunch we followd the Serpents way and climbed up and across the A286 and along the ridge west. At Verdley Edge we turned south and steeply up the slope, then along a narrow track between field edges. Then down through the Great Common woods
We crossed over to the fields above Midhurst and back to the track of our outward bound track. Then down through the village of Easebourne to the A272
Back at the entrance to the village at the toll booth. into the car park and then home after a visit to the toilets.
