Wey South & Greensand Way, Hascombe

I planned a walk from the car park opposite the white horse in Hascombe, heading over to Smithbrook Kilns and hence on to join the Wey South path. Staying on it over the Downs link and up to Run Common. Leaving the Wey South to loop up to the Greensand way, then back to the Downs link and crossing to Grafham. Over to Thorncombe Street, then along to the bottom of Winkworth Arboretum. Through the NT area and out the main entrance, across into Busbridge woods. Around Hydon Heath and across to the Hurtwood and back to the car park.

Parked in the car park, and across to the lane past the pub and church to the village pond. The path left the Greensand way into the woods
Climbing on a small twisty path - there was a wider track deeper in the woods, I found out later.
The path popped out into the field beside it and along until the woods curved to include it.
Along the larger track that followed the ridge above Nore hanger
Dropping down to and around Nore, before following a farm track
Over a slope to reach Painshill farm, where a sharp turn along a byway.
The byway changed to a dirt track then a footpath as it passed a cottage. This finally crossed the driveway to Nore before emerging at Smithbrook Kilns.
Along the A281 (luckily there was a large verge here) to a footpath just past the houses where the Leathern bottle used to be.
Across the horse paddocks to Rydinghurst farm and more up to the Wey South path.
Following the Wey South to its junction with the Downs link, and over this to continue to Rowly farm.
Following the Wey South path up to Eat Whipley farm and the weird (badly marked junction) to continue to Run common.
Following the canal now through Run common, and over the back road to the continuation.
Leaving the Wey South to angle up to Run farm , then Bisley Cottage.
A sharp turn at the cottage and along a track int the woods - the path here has been changed by use and meanders through the woods.
By mistake I continued to Long common lane, and re-joined the Greensand way. I had meant to turn off earlier, however...
This allowed me to pass the work being done on the canal restoration of a new bridge.
I then followed the path up to Rooks Hill farm, before realising I was in the wrong place and retraced my steps back to the Downs Link.
Dropping down to this and along to the next bridge.
Up the side to the track and along t to the back road.
I followed this to the marked path (very overgrown) across to Grafaham then up the side of the A281 to the path down the side of Grafham farm.
However I did realise later that I could have followed the unmarked path through Rushett common pas the cricket pitch and saved some of this.
Down the side of the farm between a grass field fence and the woods.
The path eventually crossed over onto a farm track, then into grass fields.
Up the fields and down to Lea farm (very residential)
Along the drive past the large pond, then into a sheep field to cut a corner off.
Back on the Greensand way until I eft to climb the slope to some woods.
Through the woods and up tot eh shoulder of this slope.
Down the far side on a steep path into the village of Thorncombe Street.
Onto the path aroudn the outside of the village crossing over to the back road below Winkworth.
Along the permissive path to the (now locked) bottom car park for the Arboretum.
around the path and into the NT site.
Climbing up the steep steps to reach the upper tier and the entrance (I did scan my card) then over the entrance and down the residential lane opposite.
Down past South Munstead farm and into Busbridge woods.
At the complex junction in the bottom of the valley. I did a little knights move and along the track climbing steeply into the woods.
Over the back road and into Hydon Heath. Crossing to meet with a wider path aroudn the bottom of the "Ball"
Leaving the Heath and along the side of grass fields to join a much wider track coming from Vann Hill.
Along the track to Little Burgate farm - a livery stables it seemed, then up Markwick lane to a path leading into the Hurtwood. I later realised this has permissive paths and I could have avoided the lane more directly through the wood.
Up the steep track into the plantation parts of the wood. I turned down a bridleway in the middle as it was a track I had never been down.
This led to the northern edge of the woods and I stayed inside along Foxbury copse.
Along the fire break, before a zigzag to loose height, then into a field aroudn Hoe farm.
Down to Hoe lane, then across the fields to get back to the car park.
