Les Saisies Ski day

First day out on this trip, Steph, Lloyd and Katie set out to Les Saisies - being just along the road from the chalet and parked at the bottom of the chair lift in Hautleuce village.
The sun was out but the temperature was very low - definitely a dual layer and heavy gloves day!
Up the two chair lifts to the summit at La Legette - The first tranche I got shouted at for my rucksack and trying to please caused me to drop a pole (first every on a lift) however the attendant put it on the next chair!.
At the top were hordes of junior ski racers waiting their turn on the northern side run.
We dropped down the south side down to the mid station of the lifts we had just come up. The run was in the sun but it had little effect on the run as the temperature was so low. however as only a small number of people this was not icy.
Katie dropped down to the restaurant as Steph, Lloyd and I continued down to Roche Blanche lift and on to Brichou lift. This section was bitterly cold as it was in shadow. However we had great views of Mont Blanc ahead as we summited each rise.
Over the hill and down the far side to the Douce lift. This was a new speedy 6 seater lift that whizzed us to the top of the ski area. The wind had got up a bit here and though it was sunny it was still bitter, We paused here to look around and see the off-piste route down t the valley - not used this time as we knew the bottom was bare.
Next back towards La Legette first dropping down to the lift station below and up Grattar.
Over the top and down the far side where I got the navigation a bit wrong by being tempted onto a red run that turned down to the Brichou lift. We had to go back up this and then along the green run that took us back to Roche Blanche lift. this was once again exceedingly cold and only warmed up once back in the sun.

Up the lift to La Legette with views across to the chalet in Les Curtillets - this was very green and any thoughts of a ski tour up behind the village was dashed.

Finally dropping down to the restaurant to catch up with Katie who was sunning herself in a deckchair. Sitting down for a coffee and a huge plate of chips each that no one finished - one would have done all three of us

Afterwards we crossed over to the bottom of Roche Blanche once again (to avoid the poma lift) and up to La Legette for the final time.

Down the red runs to Hautleuce and the car. This run was a white ribbon for the last tranche down, and was more icy than the rest of the runs today (probably because of the bottlenecking effect).
