Almeley Pub Discovery

A balmy evening after a week of suffering under a heatwave. So time to workout a way to the nearest pub. The Kinnersley pub and the Norton Canon ones had closed in the recent years, so that left the Bells in Almeley or the new strand in Eardisley.
The Bells was closer, and my exploring local paths showed that getting to Eardisley would be a challenge for Sue.
The Bells it was then, and I knew the route was over lanes with just a few fields.
We avoided the wheat field behind the house, instead following Newchurch road from the junction.
Then down the Logaston lane
Along the edge of a grass field, then down to the stream and over a foot bridge with two constrictor stiles.
Then up to the lonely oak (the usual indicator of path route.)
Across the grass field and down a farm track to a sheep enclosure.
AT teh end of the sheep field the path turned sharply over a stile and through a pair of cow fields. Then over the common passing the cricket pitch.
Into the pub for a couple of pints and chat with several locals. then as the sun was setting beginning the return journey - along the same route.
Across the cow field with the sun picking out Burton Hill.
Through the sheep field and over the grass field down to the stream.
Across the seeded grass field and along the Logaston farm track, to get back to Newchurch road.
Down this and back home.
