We had changed campsites and were now in Yorkshire - I had booked a habitation
check on the van for tomorrow and we needed to be close by to save any hassle
in the morning.
So after a days driving across the country, and a relax
in the campsite - Uplands park - situated on the top of a windy moor close to
the Bronte sisters habitat, it was time to stretch our legs and find some
libation.
The closest pub was a couple of kilometres away with the same
challenges as the previous campsite - either across the moor or around the
lanes.
A suitable path led out the back of the site and onto Black moor
From the moor we contoured around to pick up a back road - Trough Lane - which led to the pub car park. There was a sting in the tail with a steep end to the walk.
After imbibing a couple of pints we returned to the campsite via the roads - whereas the outward leg had been reasonably flat (contouring around) the return involved a drop down to a road junction then back up and along the edge of the moor with views down to Leeming reservoir.
Over the high point and a slight dip down to the campsite entrance, then in and back to our pitch.
we were very lucky and arrived back just before the rain driven by a strong wind came over lasting most of the night.
