Return from Billingshurst

Continuing the saga of the van rental ..  after all day moving stuff up to the storage unit in Presteigne, I needed to take the van back to the yard in Horsham. I could have walked back from there - like the returns from Wellcross, however if I took the train down to Billingshurst I could complete the other half of the walk started on Wednesday.

The first part was a stroll through the back streets of Horsaham to get to the East side of the station, and buy a ticket.
The train only needed a 10 minute wait followed by a 10 minute ride.
Arriving at Billingshurst, I turned back along the tracks through the industrial estate to the end where I knew there was a path. This crossed the tracks and escaped into the fields.
The track came to an end at a farm house where the path followed the driveway up to the A272. On the other side into the new housing estates
A small green area before the next housing estate and a play area before the new ring road.
Over the road and into the fields - there was no easy path to the new commercial area, so I followed the footpath as it followed the field boundaries.
The path followed the boundary of the comercial estate up to New road, which I followed into the estate. I picked up some things at the supermarket, and headed up the A29 for a short way - at least there was a pavement here.
Into the field opposite Summers place, and a knight's move to reach the houses, then along their boundaries.
A large field led to Leyhjold hanger where I cut over the grass to the woods on the right hand boundary and a stile.
Through the woods and over a stream before continuing to Copped Hall farm.
A final zigzag through a couple of horse fields (with inquisitive occupants) and onto the back road. This road was then followed onto Rowner road and up to the junction with a path leading to the Wey and Arun canal.
Down to the canal through a field and over the river. Now on very familiar territory,
Along the canal to the lock below Malham farm.
Up to the farm and into the Wey South path. Across the corn field and into Drungewick Copse.
Out onto Drungewick lane and along to the kennels, before continuing into Malhamashfold copse and Birch copse. Eventually coming out onto Brewhurst lane.
Back along the lane and over the B2133 at the border of Loxwood, then through the fields to Headfoldswood farm. The final section along the Loxwood road to home.
