I have combined two walks into one here - each at the extremes of weather. The first was to drop off and retrieve the car from a local garage, notable for the volume of water falling from the sky. The second was an extended bread run in bright, frosty sunlight.
We dropped the car off at the garage in the morning at the garage in Loxwood, and walked home in drizzle, before donning full scuba kit for the return later in the afternoon - it was torrential and no matter how good the Goretex was it would find several ways through. By the time we picked the car up we were soaked.
To make this a worthy route I added in the extended bread run from a following day. This was under blue skies and warm winter sun - this caused mists to lie in all the hollows and delayed the inevitable shooting party. I chose to return through Rumbolds farm.
Both of these routes followed paths I have utilised many times over the years.
