The idea was to follow the Path to Llandrindod-Wells to Disserth then come back along the rail line, before turning back to Newbridge near the saw mill.
I set out on the familiar track out from the village across to the B4358 then into the field opposite.
Similar to last weekend's stroll, I dropped down to the stream - glad I had chosen to wear wellies instead of boots.
Turning towards Disserth and over a rolling hill.
Into the woods and down the steps to the field opposite the Disserth campsite.
Around the campsite to the back road, before turning down to the church.
Through the churchyard and out the back to the fields alongside the river - Ithon
Climbing into Bryn Wood and into the field above - note that the gate into the field has moved slightly west. Also note that the woods on the map are severely reduced to pasture field.
The exit from this new field is even further west at the edge of the field.
Onto the farm driveway to Bryn, then turning up a track from the yard.
Along the track to the point it ended, and turned into a grass field. - this was marked as a farm track - but not anymore!
Looking down to the large new house at lower Gaufron farm.
The route showed a stream crossing - but this needed a fence to be climbed over and stream waded - again thanks to the wellies.
Along a field boundary to Neuadd Birches wood, where another fence had to be climbed to get to an overgrown path through the wood
Back with some footpath signs, through a grass field to a gate and stream crossing (again thanks to the wellies)
A slight climb through a soggy field to reach the buildings at Rheol. Then taking the driveway up beside a house to the farm buildings (looked disused now) and into the fields beyond.
Through the soggy fields and over a stream before angling away from buildings.
A faint trail through the small fields and beside a lorry park
Across the A470 and down the back road with views along hte Wye ahead from Llysdinam to Llanyre.
A slog now back along the back road (better than beside the A470).
Back over the river Ithon and up to the outskirts of the village.
Through the village along the main road to the house.
