We parked on the promenade - not much has changed the last 50 years! Even the viaduct looked the sane, with the exception that the trains were more modern.
Along to the end of the prom where the main school building was - Ash Meadow - now a collection of private flats.
Then along the sea wall to the end of the gardens.
A permissive park allowed us to return through the woods above Ash meadow, with views down onto the back of the building.
Back down to the prom and along to the shops for an ice cream (it still being exceedingly hot for the time of the year!). On the return I picked out the residential houses from the school days - does not look any different to my memories.
Time to go on and head for our accommodation around near Newby Bridge.
