We were guided by a book the previous owner left in the house showing local walks, but more importantly the paths around, as well as instructions that were invaluable as we went around!
We did not follow any route completely due to shortage of time, however we did find some for the future, but also where we did go touched a couple of sections of 2 routes. We started out the gate and just up the main road to the next property, where a footpath led past the house and across a grass field. Our house was at the end of the field.
This led to a gate opening onto a stream with a few stepping stones to cross to another field.
This one was filled with crops and a vague path across it. The guide showed we were right to plough on through the crops to the large Oak tree and house beyond.
Onto the lane (this one comes from the other side of our house) that we followed up past Newchurch farm with its oasthouses
We continued along the lane and up to Logaston (another farm), with views across to the Black Mountains.
We then turned off the lane onto a driveway leading to Logaston Common farm
As the driveway reached the farm the path diverted around the outside through a wooded area and into the paddock behind.
Across this and over a small stream.
Into the orchard behind. The path followed the edge of the apple trees before reaching a junction of paths.
Another blind faith crossing of a crop field (this time broad beans).
The path continued along the edge of the next two fields passing some super large chicken sheds to return to the A4112.
Finally back up the road to the house. A short walk to explore some of the local paths and a different challenge to sorting out the house.
