Wey Circular, Godalming

The van was due for a service, it seems that it is now annual rather than distance/ use...  anyway, it would be good to have a check over after the miles done this year.
Whilst they had the van I went for a walk ...  the idea was to follow the river Wye to the A3 then come back as directly as possible, picking up some supplies in Waitrose then back to pick up the van.
I dropped down to the canal around the back of the garage, and turned right towards Godalming, passing the lock.
A straight romp up the canal path with the morning light reflecting.
Picking up the more direct route to Godalming across Lammas Lands, bypassing the to groups of cattle roaming the common land.
Leaving Lammas land behind the old church and fire station to cross the river using the road bridge, before following the town river walk on the other side of the river, and views to the hells ditch area on the opposite side of the river.
Through the sensory garden and into the parkland beyond. I never realised there was a bandstand here!
Coming out of the park and crossing the river once more via a footbridge before picking up another bridleway in a green corridor, that lead back to the river side.
The path followed the river bank through the undergrowth crossing a couple of footbridges.
At the end of Pepper Harrow row of houses the path jumped up a steep bank to pick up the a continuation of the road as a path undulating alongside Milton Wood until re reached the gardens of a large house.
Around the house in a U-turn to pick up a wider track skirting horse pastures up to farm buildings.
The farm driveway lead into the village of Lower Eashing. From here I followed the road towards the cottages at Eashing Bridges, where I crossed over the river Wye once again.
Leaving the bridges behind I followed a path alongside the river before it climbed up the bank and cut back to the road which had made the opposite two sides of a square.
On the road through Upper Eashing, and down Halfway Lane.
The lane led past Fitzpatrick's pet referral centre, and caper & berry kitchens and a huge housing development over the fence from this quiet lane.
Beyond the development the path had been renovated and upgraded as it dropped down to the main railway line. Passing a house with a huge monkey puzzle tree in the driveway.
To cross the railway I had to follow the road past the back entrance to the rail station and under a road bridge. On the town side of the railway I found a path behind the houses back to the park and the church marking the west end.
From the park I cut across to the high street, and followed it down to Waitrose. Into the supermarket for some supplies before continuing back over the river (for the last time).
Back along the same route as the outward journey - across Lammas lands, and down the towpath.
The van was waiting for me, just needed to pay for the service and drop home for lunch.
