Pulborough One Way

I had an appointment in Pulborough for the annual flu and covid jabs, so arranged with Sue that I would walk down and meet her in the car park to get a lift back after the injections. The rain of earlier in the week (and overnight) had cleared away and it promised a warm day.

The route I worked out took the Parish boundary track from the village and down to Kirdford road (between Kirdford and Wisborough Green), a short section on  the road towards Kirdford.

Down the back road to Linfold bridge. Cutting across a bend in the road on a path beside fields - the start of which was heavily overgrown and I had to force a way through. This re-joined the back road shortly before it joined the A272. Then a short section along the busy road.
Down the driveway to Bulchins farm, and then its continuation. just before the next house I turned into the woods
Across a stream and deeper into The Mens. The path came out at Crimbourne stud, and onto the driveway to Hawkhurst Court.
Into the estate of Hawhurst past the memorial to the Dieppe raid, and deeper into The Mens on the a gravel track.
Deep in the woods (this bit called Hammonds Wood)I took a minor path left and to the boundary of the wood.
Then over a couple of clearings to Arundel Holt buildings. From here through more woods to the back road (Fittleworth Road).
Leaving the back road and down a driveway leading to Pallingham Quay farm. This track wound through trees and alongside fields.
Down beside the farm I took the Wey South track over the flood meadows past the remains of the tidal lock that marks the end of the canal.
A fiddly crossing of a stream and up to a residence, then down its drive way to Pickhurst.
Now an undulating back road (Coombelands lane), that led up to the racing stables of the same name. here the path moved away from the lane and onto the training grounds
Views over to the South Downs

At the bottom of the training ground, the path followed its edge around until it could re-join the lane.
Now along the lane into the town. It came out onto the A29 where the road was limited by traffic lights. From here I followed the major road NE towards the supermarket, and the pharmacy.
I was early for the appointment so I sat on a seat and had lunch in the sun.
