Another year and I was off climbing in the Alps with Dave, back from his Himalayan trip. This time though we were part of a bigger group of people, Bryon was climbing with Chris again, and we had several first timers .. Sue and Christine, Don and Phil. We were all heading for the Grimsel Pass, meeting in the car park by the Oberaar lake. In my trusty Company car (Rover 600), with roof box to hold all gear we could not pack in the boot or around the passengers, we had Dave, Sue, Christine and myself. Don and Phil were in Phil's van, Bryon and Chris in a third car.
We were going to start off together and then once everyone had got their feet they would take off on their own. Dave and I had some goals - The Mittelegi ridge up to the Eiger being the main one.
